Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi has called on the Federal Government and security agencies to immediately parade and prosecute the suspected kidnappers arrested in connection with the abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State.
The senator made the call on the floor of the Senate on Tuesday, saying the swift prosecution of the suspects would demonstrate the government’s commitment to tackling insecurity and restoring public confidence in the nation’s justice system.
Ningi described the reported arrest of the suspected kidnappers as a commendable achievement by the security agencies but stressed that the process should not end with their apprehension.
According to him, Nigerians deserve to see those responsible for such heinous crimes brought to justice without delay.
“The arrested kidnappers of the Oyo State students and teachers must be immediately paraded and prosecuted. The government must send a clear message that criminality will not be tolerated and that anyone who terrorises innocent Nigerians will face the full weight of the law,” he said.
The lawmaker noted that the increasing wave of kidnappings, particularly attacks targeting schools, continues to pose a serious threat to education and national security.
