President Bola Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and intelligence agencies to intensify operations to apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where about 30 people were reportedly killed.
The directive followed Monday’s attack on the community in Kamaru Ward, during which heavily armed assailants allegedly killed men, women and children before setting several houses on fire, leaving widespread destruction in their wake.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President strongly condemned the massacre, describing it as a barbaric assault on innocent and defenseless citizens.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that security agencies had been instructed to launch an intensive manhunt for the perpetrators, stressing that those behind the attack would not escape justice.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police, and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” the President said.
He noted that the Federal Government would not allow criminal groups to reverse the security gains achieved in Kaduna State, reaffirming his administration’s determination to protect lives and maintain peace across the country.
The President also extended his condolences to the bereaved families, Governor Uba Sani, the Kaduna State Government and residents affected by the tragedy, assuring them of the Federal Government’s full support as the community recovers from the attack.
Reiterating his administration’s security agenda, Tinubu pledged to continue strengthening the nation’s security architecture through improved funding, better equipment for security personnel and sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel, and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he stated.
The President further appealed to residents of affected communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could assist ongoing operations and help prevent similar attacks in the future.
